A credit buys one SMS part, to one recipient. Plain English is sent as GSM-7 and fits 160 characters in a part. Nepali written in Devanagari is sent as Unicode, which fits 70 — so the same notice can be one part in English and three in Nepali, at three times the cost.
It is all-or-nothing: one Nepali letter, one danda, one emoji or one curly apostrophe from autocorrect moves the whole message to the 70-character limit. The panel prices a send before you confirm it, and the free counter prices it before you even have an account.
